The holidays are just knocking on the door… and around the corner Christmas is coming!!
I can’t wait to get all lazy and cozy and enjoy some quality time with my family and friends. Of course for this particular process there is a traditional list to follow, starting with Christmas movies!
Yep, difficulties in trying to get all holly and jolly?? I have a solution!
Every year from the first of December since I can remember, the tradition is to watch at least 10 Christmas movies…. a lot, right… told you I was scary for Christmas! But well I start from the 1st Dec, so lot’s of time for preparation!! And if from time to time, I switch up things on the list, there are always those faves that are a must!
Besides, you have got to get inspired somewhere right?
10. Meet me in St.Louis
Oh boy, I don’t know what’s with me and Musicals, or maybe I do… unconditional LOVE! The amazing Judi Garland delights everyone with her amazing voice!
“Have your self a merry little Christmas“
9. A mupped christmas Carol
Well disney+ muppets + Dickens most beloved story… need something else?
I love, love, love this movie… and I will probably love it forever, as it is in my childhood favorite 3, I can’t help every year, i must go back to Neverland to save Maggie and Jack!
The music, the story, Peter, and how life can be a great adventure such a lovely mix!
“Peter : To live. To live would be an awfully big adventure“
7. Nightmare before Christmas
Oh well anyone waiting for sandy claws…ops I mean Santa Claus?ahuahuahu
I was 8, the first time I saw it and to be honest I was terrified, for the first 15 minutes… after that bamm I went crazy singing all the songs!!!
“Jack Skellington: Just because I cannot see it, doesn’t mean I can’t believe it!“
6. Miracle on the 34th street
Classic can never go wrong! Children, NY, Santa and well a good old fashion story/tale… although I now realize that there is a lot of Macy in this movie
Susan Walker : “He’s a nice old man, mother, and his whiskers are real too.”
5. Love Actually
One of my fave british comedy movie, too….and c’mon who would say no to Colin Firth and Hugh Grant on Christmas! sweet, hilarious, ironic, simply Brilliant!
“If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you‘ll find that love actually is all around”
4. Home alone – Home alone 2
Oh well the oder places on my top 3 childhood list are obviously taken by these 2 movies!I yet know almost the entire script in italian and English…and c’mon every child wanted to be Kevin on Xmas….by the way the music from this movies is so good …
“Kevin McCallister: You can mess with a lot of things, but you can’t mess with kids on Christmas.”
3. How the Grinch stole Christmas
Well Jim Carrey is amazing in this movie, he was born to be the Grinch… Ron Howard did a wonderful job with this movie!
“And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow,
stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.”
Elf is very recent among all these titles but since it came out, it became one of the best movies about xmas out here! At a first look it may seem silly, but the storyline is so smart, plus it’s funny, hilarious, and it has a beautiful message…. and songs, yep!
ELF CODE: Treat every day like Christmas!
“Buddy: I just like to smile, smiling’s is my favorite“
I think it’s probably that old style comedy vibe that made it … right up to the top xmas movies!
1. It’s a wonderful Life
Frank Capra movie from 1946, I don’t know what to say…I am already crying, this movie is beautiful as it is simple. Probably the best of the best on Christmas!
“Clarence: Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?”
So what do you think? Did you see some of this movies? Let me know
